Hi, How do I assign variable thickness to shell elements? Previously, in Patran, we used to make use of fields/tables. The tables would contain increments of co-ordinate values of major dimensions and corresponding thickness at that co-ordinate value. The co-ordinates would begin from start to end of the major dimension. For ex: at X=0, t=1; X=5, t=2 etc. This table then would be referenced during PSHELL thickness assignment and Nastran/Patran would automatically pick-up or calculate (interpolate) thickness based on the nodal co-ordinates and write its value in the bdf/dat file. Is a similar or an alternative way available in Hypermesh? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
